When the owner of Pastarita — an authentic Italian eatery — set out to transform an existing space at Westfield Newmarket, their vision was to create a cosy haven that reflected her brand’s roots. The design needed to express Pastarita’s unique identity while supporting efficient operations in a high-traffic environment.

Hellospace reimagined the former hospitality site as a warm, boho-inspired space that captures the soul of Italian dining within a bustling mall setting. Inspired by Italy’s rich culinary heritage, the design layers nostalgic touches — wooden spoons, olive leaf wallpaper, and woven pendants — over a soft palette of sage green, light blue, and warm timber tones, creating a relaxed and familiar atmosphere.

Sustainability is central, with repurposed materials and custom joinery featured throughout the fitout.

The result is a welcoming, family-friendly restaurant that blends authenticity, functionality, and brand storytelling into a memorable dining experience.
